Outstanding Student Employee Award

Purpose
The purpose of this award is to recognize undergraduate and graduate students for exceptional service contributions to the CEHD, the University community, and the surrounding community.

Award
Up to two awards of $1,000 may be presented. One award will be available to a student at each of the following levels of study; undergraduate and graduate. The recipient(s) will receive a $1,000 award and a certificate presented at the CEHD Spring Assembly and Recognition event in April.

Eligibility
Undergraduate students currently registered for 12 or more credits and enrolled in CEHD, graduate students currently enrolled in CEHD, or graduate students currently enrolled in CEHD and involved in the dissertation process who are in good academic standing may apply. Student nominees should also have an active appointment as a CEHD employee as of the due date for this award. An individual may not receive this award more than once; however, previous nominees who have not received the award may be re-nominated. All nominees must be an active employee in good standing at the time of the dossier due date. Nominees must continue as employees in good standing in order to receive the award at the date of the spring assembly in April.

Criteria
Please address the following relevant criteria in your nomination and give examples:

  • Leadership skills and ability to empower others.
  • Positive impact on CEHD, academic department, major program(s) and/or its student organizations.
  • Service contributions to the college, University, and surrounding community.


Nomination Documentation

Nomination materials are reviewed by individuals who may not be specialists in the nominee’s field. Successful nominations document how the experiences of the nominee meet the criteria of the award. It is strongly suggested that the letters specifically address the criteria in the order they are listed. Selection Process
Nominations will be reviewed by the CEHD Honors and Awards work group, which will make a recommendation to the dean, who will make the final decision regarding the recipient of this award.
