Jeanne T. Lupton Civil Service/Bargaining Unit Outstanding Service Award

Purpose
Named in honor of Jeanne T. Lupton, Dean of General College (1979-86), this award recognizes outstanding service to the CEHD and to the University of Minnesota by CEHD Civil Service/Bargaining Unit staff.

Award
Recipient will receive a $1,500 award and a certificate presented at the CEHD Spring Assembly and Recognition event in April. Up to one award may be presented each year to an eligible nominee.

Eligibility
Full-time (75% or greater) Civil Service/Bargaining Unit employees who have completed at least three uninterrupted years of service in the CEHD as of the due date for this year’s nominations, may apply. An individual may not receive this award more than once; however, previous nominees who have not received the award may be re-nominated. All nominees must be an active employee in good standing at the time of the dossier due date. Nominees must continue as employees in good standing in order to receive the award at the date of the spring assembly in April.

Criteria
Successful nominees should have demonstrated competencies in the following areas

  • Anticipating and initiating quality service that facilitates the work of the College.
  • Career service that sets a standard as an exemplary model.
  • Professional attitude and demeanor toward students, faculty, and other constituencies that represent the University at its best.


Nomination Documentation

Nomination materials are reviewed by individuals who may not be specialists in the nominee’s field. Successful nominations document how the experiences of the nominee meet the criteria of the award. Selection Process 
Nominations will be reviewed by the CEHD Honors and Awards work group, which will make a recommendation to the dean, who will make the final decision.
